A report on the 16 Duluth intersections where traffic accidents are most likely to occur was released yesterday by the city administration. Based on data from 1973 through 1975, the intersection with the highest number of accidents was Arlington Avenue and Central Entrance.
It was over three months ago on the Fourth of July that 100-mile-per-hour winds blasted through northwestern Wisconsin. Salvage operations have now begun on about 850,000 acres of timber that was damaged at an estimated value of nearly $9 million.

The owners of the Fitger's Brewery Complex have agreed to lease the space currently occupied by Augustino's Restaurant to Kathy and Bob Bennett. Bennett's Bar & Grill on West Superior Street will close after Nov. 1 and reopen Nov. 12 as Bennett's on the Lake.
Duluth city councilors yesterday gave the planned development of luxury townhomes near Glensheen Mansion a cool reception. City officials have recommended that the project go forward, but residents in the Congdon neighborhood have mounted a campaign to stop the development.
