  • A bill appropriating $1 million to plan for a state medical school in Duluth was introduced yesterday in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Earlier, a blue-ribbon panel recommended Duluth as the best site for a second medical school in the state.
  • The Minnesota House of Representatives yesterday passed a bill giving the state agriculture commissioner authority over the use of pesticides such as DDT. Rep. Willard Munger opposed the bill, arguing that an independent agency should oversee pesticide use. News Tribune
