  • Duluth's public school teachers last night rejected a proposed contract that provided for salary increases of 8.66 percent. Members of the teacher negotiating committee say if an agreement isn't reached this week it probably won't come until the fall.
  • State Sen. Raymond J. Higgins of Duluth said yesterday that introduction of additional exotic fish species in Lake Superior is under consideration by the Minnesota Conservation Department. The decision will rest on the success of the current coho salmon program. News Tribune
