  • A campaign to raise $500,000 for development of a medical school at UMD will get under way in Duluth today. The money is needed to provide classroom and laboratory facilities for the start of classes in the fall of 1972.
  • Assistant Superintendent Richard B. Pearson told the Duluth School Board last night that new rules for busing students this coming year will limit the service only to those living a mile or more from school, or an estimated 900 students. News Tribune
