* The Lake Superior shipping season ended yesterday morning when the steamer Enders M. Voorhees freed herself from ice in the Upper St. Mary's River and passed through the Soo Locks. The Voorhees had cleared Two Harbors three days ago.

* With jumps of 242 and 240 feet, Adrian Watt yesterday won the Guy R. Olson Trophy at the Duluth city championships at the Fond du Lac ski slide. About 1,000 spectators turned out on the crisp Sunday afternoon.

* Cement Masons and area contractors tentatively agreed to a contract last evening, but the 8-week-old strike won't end until at least next week. Strikers will continue picketing construction sites until union members vote to ratify the agreement.

* Two masts, a wooden oar and some rigging, all from Duluth's Viking replica ship Leif Erikson, were found by city maintenance crews yesterday in a West Duluth warehouse that had been scheduled for demolition.
