  • Beginning today, the Duluth-Superior transit system will be managed by the Duluth Transit Authority, which took over after the city's purchase of the system from the Duluth-Superior Transit Co. and its parent firm, Kodiak Corp. of Minneapolis.
  • Vandalism in Duluth, Superior and area schools is on the rise at a cost of thousands of dollars a year to taxpayers. Replacement of window glass alone costs the Duluth public schools more than $11,500 a year. Feb. 1, 1990

  • Duluth Water & Gas Department crews today will continue to repair leaking water pipes under Michigan Street between Third and Fourth avenues west. The leaks have been difficult to locate because of the complex system of pipes in the area.
  • Many Duluth homeowners will get notices of property tax increases this month while owners of more expensive homes will see their taxes decline. The variations are caused by changes in state property tax formulas.
