  • Duluth's business climate continued to present a favorable picture in October, according to the latest Duluth Business Indicators. The index for the month showed a greater-than-average seasonal rise over September and posted a new high for October.
  • The University of Minnesota Board of Regents last week approved creation of a UMD Campus Assembly to include both faculty and students. The assembly will have jurisdiction over entrance requirements, curricula, exams, discipline, honors and awards, athletics and other areas. Dec. 7, 1990

  • The 1992 state conference of the Minnesota Post-Secondary DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) has been scheduled for the Duluth Education Convention Center. About 1,600 visitors are expected for the conference, which last met in Duluth in 1983.
  • The Northland Vietnam Veterans Association announced yesterday that members of Duluth's building trades unions will donate their labor to help build a Northland Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Work will begin next spring at a site behind the Fitgers Brewery Complex.
