The Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 1970 Operation Native Sons and Daughters program on Dec. 28 in Paulucci Hall. The annual event is designed to give graduating college seniors the opportunity to interview with Duluth-area employers.
The Silver Bay Curling Club will dedicate its new building next weekend with a ceremony and three-day Grand Opening Bonspiel. The new building, located off the outer drive, has three sheets of artificial ice, a club room and a locker room. News Tribune

The College of St. Scholastica tonight will announce "The St. Scholastica Promise," a $10.75 million fundraising campaign. College President Dan Pilon will make the official announcement at the President's Dinner, an annual event that honors the school's supporters.
The Fond-du-Luth Gaming Casino is in the black for the first time since it opened in 1986, a report released yesterday states. The accumulated profits have allowed the casino to wipe out debt that had piled up during its early years.
