* Superior firemen and members of the City Council's Wage and Classification Committee today continue negotiations on a new working agreement. Firemen threatened to strike during the last negotiating session after demanding a pay increase of $70 a month.
* The Head of the Lakes Council of Government last night unanimously accepted the city of Duluth's federal funding application for $2,400,000 to build a city library. The facility would be located next to the Soo Line Railway Building.

* Nursing homes in Minnesota and Wisconsin averaged far fewer violations of federal standards in recent inspections than homes in other parts of the country. The results are part of a 75-volume survey released last week by the federal government.
* Harry Davis is selling his Mister Fixit Service Center at 16 W. First St. to Metro Appliances Inc. Davis began repairing appliances in Duluth in 1941 and changed the name of the business to Mister Fixit in 1961.
