Duluth school administrators have asked the School Board to adopt a five-year school reorganization plan by December. The timeline calls for the board to spend the next several months reviewing the middle school concept and analyzing cost estimates.
The Duluth building inspector's July report lists 22 permits issued for single-family homes with values totaling $666,271. For the first seven months of this year, permits have been issued for 129 homes with a total listed valuation of $3.868 million.

Aug. 15, 1997
The owner of an apartment building at 633 E. Fourth St. in Duluth plans to renovate the ground floor and add a restaurant, dry cleaner, and postal store. Anton Jurkic is applying for Duluth Economic Development Authority funds to help with the renovation.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will start an environmental investigation next week at the former Finland Air Force Station, now an apartment complex called Lookout Mountain Village. Two years ago, state officials found drinking water contaminated with trichloroethylene at the site.
