Trail through Hartley Park to be moved
Ayers & Associates, an engineering and consulting firm, is helping resolve a long-standing issue in the southwestern corner of Hartley Park. For years, neighbors have had to deal with people who unknowingly trespassed on private property while using a trail that enters the park near Kenwood Edison Charter School.
A crew from Ayers & Associates surveyed the area and developed a plan to relocate the trail onto park property, farther from its neighbors.
Today, volunteers will join the firm's staff to create the new section of trail. Brush and debris from the effort will be used to block off the old trail. Those who want to help should meet at the school at 8:30 a.m. Organizers expect the job to be completed in a few hours.
