Due to the construction on the Blatnik Bridge's westbound driving lane from Superior to Duluth, which begins Monday June 23, the DTA will detour its Route #16 buses onto the Bong Bridge en-route to Duluth. The Blatnik Bridge construction and Route #16 detours are expected to continue until mid-July. The DTA does not anticipate any major delays in service during this time. Passengers should expect buses to run as scheduled.
DTA DETOUR ROUTING:
Route #16 buses arriving at 14th and Tower Avenue from Itasca will continue on Tower Avenue and detour via Winter Street, Banks Avenue, Belknap Street, Bong Bridge, 35W Freeway, Mesaba Avenue exit to Superior Street, Superior Street and regular route. Buses from Duluth to Superior will not be affected by the westbound lane closure and will run regular routing.
North End Superior: Passengers traveling to Duluth will have to board the bus coming from Duluth and bound for downtown Superior/Itasca. Passengers can get a timely connection by transferring on Tower Avenue to the Duluth bound bus.
North End Superior Shuttle Services: North End passengers will be served by DTA shuttle services from downtown Superior to North End Superior during morning and afternoon peak hours (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.) on weekdays. No shuttle service will be provided during off-peak weekday hours or on weekends. Shuttle schedules can be obtained from your bus driver.

Garfield Avenue and Goodwill Industries: Service from Goodwill Industries and Garfield Avenue to downtown Duluth will depart from Goodwill Industries at 12:15 p.m., 3:34 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. With these exceptions, passengers wishing to travel to downtown Duluth are advised to take a Route #16 bus en-route to Superior and transfer on Tower Avenue to the Route #16 Duluth-Superior bus traveling to Duluth.
