BROOKINGS, S.D. -- The Minnesota Duluth women's basketball team kept South Dakota State close until the fourth quarter, and the Jackrabbits went on to win Monday's North Central Conference game at Frost Arena.
South Dakota State's 64-51 win followed the Jackrabbits' one-point upset of Division I Minnesota on Sunday.
The Jackrabbits' Megan Vogel led all scorers with 16 points and was 8-for-9 from the free-throw line.
The Bulldogs, who held the lead early in the game, had three players in double figures. Katy Freeman had 15 points and Katie Winkelman and Stephanie Reiter each had 11.
But it wasn't enough to keep SDSU close.

"We kind of went on a scoring dry spell and they made a good run and kind of stretched it out," UMD coach Dave Stromme said. "The kids competed and had many chances. We didn't get it done at the end."
The teams combined for 48 turnovers -- 25 for UMD, 23 for South Dakota State.
The Bulldogs travel to St. Cloud State for a conference game at 2 p.m. Saturday.
