The city of Duluth will begin a yearlong project to repair the bridge over Chester Creek at Second Street just east of 13th Avenue East on Monday.

The work includes installing a new concrete floor; repairing concrete walls, roof and headwall; and extending the tunnel at the outlet beneath Second Street.

The $1.1 million project may require temporary lane closures on Second Street.

The project is being paid for half from the city construction account and half from a bridge bond.
