A boy struck by a pickup truck in Hibbing on Saturday afternoon was flown by helicopter to a Duluth hospital for possible head and upper leg injuries, authorities said.
The boy was riding a bicycle on a bike path that crosses the street at 25th Street and Fifth Avenue. He was struck by a passing pickup truck in the residential neighborhood, said Capt. Dan Nehiba of the Hibbing Fire Department, which responded to the accident.
The boy, who hasn't been identified but is about 8 years old, was taken to University Medical Center-Mesabi in Hibbing before being transported to a Duluth hospital, Nehiba said.
No other information was available on Saturday.
