A 27-year-old rural Bovey woman was arrested Saturday night and faces charges in the attempted robbery of Ron's Corner Market in
Marble, according to the Itasca County Sheriff's Department.
The sheriff's department received a 911 call for the incident at 7:32 p.m. According to a news release from Sheriff Pat Medure, the owner walked into the store as the suspect held the owner's wife at gunpoint. The owner rushed the suspect and managed to get the shotgun away from her. He held the suspect at the store until law enforcement officers arrived a couple of minutes after the 911 call.
The suspect was wearing a hooded shirt to cover her head and a red bandana to conceal her face, the release said. The shotgun had a live round in the chamber. No money was given to the suspect.
The suspect is being held in Itasca County Jail pending formal charges by the Itasca County Attorney's Office.
