The Blue Iris Gallery on Park Point has opened just across the Aerial Lift Bridge at 723 S. Lake Ave. The gallery is in the space previously occupied by At Sara's Table, and next door to Country By the Lake.
The Blue Iris Gallery highlights the work of owners Pat Joyelle, offering hand-crafted clay and metal jewelry and wearables; Penny Clark, with kiln-fired, fused glass window panels, vases, and picture frames; and Karen Monson-Thompson, hand-weaver of hand-spun and dyed wool and cotton table linens. Each of the owners/artisans has strong ties to the Twin Ports arts community, and will showcase new and limited edition work in the gallery.
Additional local and regional artists creating original fine art and fine craft will round out the gallery space. Work featured at this time is by Joyce Mickelson, watercolors; Viki Day, clay; Jan Hartley Wise, prints and cards; Cheryl Husby, hand colored photographs and clay with her husband Bob Husby; Elizabeth Nistler, decorative wood boxes and sculpture; and Linda Nelson Bryan, hand-dyed silk scarves.
