The Blatnik Bridge was closed for about a half hour Saturday night while Superior police dealt with a man walking across it, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian walking toward Duluth around 11 p.m. The man stepped to the outside guardrail when police attempted to talk to him, and said he would jump if officers came closer.
Officers allowed him to walk back toward Superior, and arrested him after a brief foot chase once he reached the base of the bridge. The man was arrested on a probation and parole warrant. He told police he only threatened to jump because he didn't want to go to jail, police said.
