* The Duluth News Tribune announces assignment changes for its advertising account executives that take effect Thursday: Dennis Comfort will assume responsibility for all national advertising, in addition to major accounts. Comfort has handled major accounts for the News Tribune the past 5½ years.
Tim Wolff will specialize in advertising that originates with advertising agencies. Before returning to the News Tribune four months ago, he worked for Wherley Moving and Storage and in television advertising sales in the Duluth market. Jack Williams will handle accounts in Lincoln Park/West End and select accounts in the Hermantown business district. Williams has been a key figure in the classified advertising department the past eight years and will bring that print and online experience with him to retail sales.
AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS
* The Benedictine Health System, Long Term Care Services recently received the 2007 Minnesota Quality Award from the Minnesota Council for Quality. They were one in nine organizations to receive this year's recognition.
* The Coffee Den, 212 Third St., Proctor, celebrates its first anniversary with a concert by guitarist George Host from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, an open mic night beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, and free rolls and coffee from 8-10 a.m. Saturday. In addition, Francophiles are welcome to join local area high school students in a French cultural event, "Ouvrez la Bouche," from 1-3 p.m. Saturday. All events are free.
