As of Tuesday afternoon, 14  of the available 32 slots for the "How to Start a Small Business Seminar"  in Duluth for vets and service members still had not been filled.

So the deadline for signing up for the seminar, set for Wednesday, has been extended.

Vets now have until 8 a.m. Wednesday to register online. But then they better rush over to Lake Superior College where the seminar starts at 8:30 a.m. and runs til 1 p.m. in S Building, Room S1981.

The seminar is free for vets. And their spouses are welcome.

The third of six such seminars being held around the state, it's presented by the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon program, the Minnesota National Guard, the state Department of Veterans Affairs and a contingent of other state and federal agencies that would take up too much space to list.

Attendees will hear from experts in the field and hear about the experiences of Veteran business owners and have the opportunity to network with them. Attendees also will learn about entrepreneurial programs and resources available to them.  They should leave with a good understanding of funding available to start a business and how to go about applying.

To register, visit www.beyondtheyellowribbon.org and click on "event registration" on the upper left of the homepage, then click on the "Veteran's Small Business Seminar."
