A 72-year-old Ely bicyclist was taken to a hospital in Duluth with non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a motorist on Minnesota Highway 169 in the area around Kawishiwi Trail outside of Ely on Monday.
Donald Dudley Ingerson was transported to St. Lukeâs hospital in Duluth following the 3:30 p.m. crash, the Minnesota State Patrol news release said.
Kathleen Jo Trueman, 75, of Cold Spring, Minn., was traveling north in a 2010 Chevy Traverse when her vehicle struck Ingerson riding on the northbound shoulder. Trueman was not injured, said the State Patrol.
The crash, in Morse Township, also drew in the St. Louis County Sheriffâs Office.

Conditions were dry at the time of the incident.
