Wednesday sees the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra's season debut. The orchestra will fill Weber Music Hall at the University of Minnesota Duluth with the strains of Brahms. Guest artist Andy Stein, most recently of the Prairie Home Companion house group, the Guy's All Star Shoe Band, solos in the romantic Violin Concerto. Stein's chops are many -- he was a founding member with Commander Cody of the Lost Planet Airmen, as well as a re-creator of the early work of the great jazz violinist Joe Venuti. He also has accompanied Placido Domingo and played with Itzaak Perlman. Music is at 7:30 p.m.; in keeping with the more unbuttoned aesthetic of the LSCO, there's a reception afterward where you can meet and mingle with the musicians. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students and $6 for ages 12 and younger. Call 726-8877 or go to https://tickets.umn.edu
