Andrew Berryhill announced today that he is resigning from his position as executive director of the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, effective April 1.

Berryhill said he is leaving so his wife can further her professional education. Approximately 10 years ago, Berryhill said, he asked her to sell her business so they could move to Duluth. Now he is returning the favor. Berryhill joined the organization in the spring of 2002, coming from the staff of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

"While such a transition never happens at an ideal time for an organization, the DSSO is today musically and financially stronger than it has ever been," Berryhill said in a news release.
