PARK RAPIDS, Minn. -- A Bemidji man was killed Saturday morning when the van he was driving collided with horses on a highway south of Park Rapids.
Troy Hargreaves, 43, was driving north on U.S. Highway 71 just before 5 a.m. when the van "struck horses in the roadway," according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash took place at milepost 255, a mile south of the Four Mile Corner. Hargreaves was not wearing a seat belt, according to the patrol's release, and the vehicle's airbag did deploy.
