The John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon is hosting a major fundraising event Saturday at the American Legion in Two Harbors.

Doors open for the bingo and bucket raffle fundraiser at 6 p.m., with 20 games beginning at 7 p.m. There will be prizes and a cash bar. Merchandise will be for sale and people can sign up for a membership. Renewals and new members will get a free 11x17 poster, a pin and 10 percent off merchandise. Memberships range from $30 to $100.

The American Legion post is located at 614 First Ave. in Two Harbors.

The John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon, scheduled to start Jan. 29 in Two Harbors, is the longest sled dog race in the Lower 48. Close to 500 volunteers from around the country come together each winter to stage the race, and volunteer opportunities are available in many areas. For more information, go to beargrease.com.
