What: The Experimental Aircraft Association is offering flights in its restored B-17G Flying Fortress "Aluminum Overcast." One of only 14 such airplanes still flying, the "Flying Fortress" is an icon of the Allied strategic bombing effort that helped turn the tide of battle in World War II.
When: Air flights Wednesday every 45 minutes from 10:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. A minimum of six people is required per flight.
Where: Richard I. Bong Airport, off Tower Avenue in Superior, near the terminal.
Cost: $385 for EAA members and $425 (includes a free one-year EAA membership) for nonmembers. Call (920) 379-4244.
Ground tours: From 2-5 p.m. today and Wednesday. Cost $5 per person, $15 per family (children under 8 free when accompanied by paying adult) and free to all active-duty military or veterans.
