One person is in critical condition and two suspects are facing assault charges following an early morning assault, Duluth police report.
According to police, 911 dispatch center received a report of an assault at 21st Avenue West and Superior Street around 2:30 a.m. The assault victim was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition with head injuries. It is not known if a weapon was used in the assault.
A man and a juvenile male were arrested on first-degree assault charges. Authorities expect to charge them Monday. Police haven't found a connection between the victim and the suspect.
Police believe other people may have been involved in incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the department's Violent Crimes Unit at 730-5050.
