The Duluth Fire Department responded to report of a structure fire at 1720 E. Fifth St. at 1:21 a.m. Thursday.

First arriving fire companies reported fire in a single car attached garage. The house was occupied at the time of the fire, and occupants were evacuated by Duluth Police Officers.

Fire companies made quick entry into the garage, and were able to stop the fire before it could advance through into the attached house.

Structural damage limited to southeast corner of garage, and there was a vehicle inside that received limited thermal damage to the left front. Damage estimates at this time are $15,000 on the structure and $10,000 for contents.

The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal's office.
