An Amery man was indicted by a federal grand jury in Madison after an investigation that included help from the Douglas County Sheriff's Department and Superior Police Department, according to a news release issued by Erik C. Peterson, U.S. attorney in the Western District of Wisconsin.

Bradley Hill, 48, was indicted on charges of distribution of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

The sealed indictment was returned Jan. 7 accusing Hill of distributing meth on Jan. 17, 2008, and possessing meth with intent to distribute on July 4.

Hill made an initial appearance in U.S. District Court last week. At a detention hearing Wednesday, he was ordered into custody pending a trial scheduled for April 27.

The charges against Hill are the result of an investigation conducted by the Polk and Douglas county sheriff's departments, Superior and Amery police departments and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigations.
