Ainsworth Lumber Co. is temporarily shutting down oriented strand board operations at its Bemidji and Cook mills.
The Bemidji plant will close Oct. 19 and production is expected to resume Oct. 29, according to a company statement. The Cook plant closed Thursday and is expected to reopen Oct. 22.
The company cited log shortages, high costs and declining orders as reasons for the cutbacks. The plants will accept log deliveries during the down times.
