The city of Duluth will be lighting the Aerial Lift Bridge different colors throughout the next four weeks in honor of all Duluth high school and college graduating seniors.
Each Duluth college and high school will be celebrated individually on the day they were supposed to graduate. Due to guidelines set out by the Center for Diseases Control and Prevention, traditional graduations have been canceled for the class of 2020.
"In honor of all of our graduates, I have decided to light the Aerial Lift Bridge to reflect the pride this community feels for our graduates,” Mayor Emily Larson said. “We hope that this signals how proud we are of them, and believe in their bright future."
The schedule and colors for the bridge are as follows:
- May 9: University of Minnesota Duluth — maroon and gold
- May 10: College of St. Scholastica — blue and gold
- May 18: Lake Superior College — teal
