Actor Jon Hamm will join Sen. Al Franken at a get-out-the-vote rally in Duluth on Monday, Franken’s campaign announced Friday evening.
The actor, best known for his role as Don Draper on the acclaimed cable TV show “Mad Men,” is set to appear with Franken at the University of Minnesota Duluth at 1 p.m. An exact location was not immediately announced.
Franken, a Democrat first elected to the Senate in 2008, is running for re-election against Republican challenger Mike McFadden.
McFadden appeared at UMD on Thursday to highlight his “Contract with Minnesota” unveiled earlier this month. The contract outlines pledges including: posting every vote taken and his reasoning on his website; visiting all Minnesota counties each year; and not seeking re-election if he votes 97 percent of the time or more with any party or president.
