A 21-year-old man was rescued from Chester Creek on Monday evening near the Eighth Street Bridge in Chester Park. The man fell 35 feet after the branch he had been leaning on snapped just after 7 p.m.

The Duluth Fire Department responded to the scene and used a basket to reach the man and pull him out of the ravine. The man broke a femur and he was transferred to a nearby hospital after the rescue.
