A 16-year-old girl from Bovey was airlifted to Essentia Health in Duluth for non-life-threatening injuries after a crash near Grand Rapids on Tuesday.
The crash occurred around 3:19 p.m. when the 16-year-old driver of a Dodge Journey SUV failed to yield to traffic at the intersection of Trout Lake Road and U.S. Highway 169 in Itasca County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol's website.
The driver of an oncoming Ford Ranger pickup truck attempted to avoid collision by braking, but crashed into the driver's side of the SUV.
The driver of the truck was a 38-year-old man, also from Bovey, who sustained minor injuries. He was not transported to a hospital.
