An Eveleth woman was unhurt when her car slid into a moving freight train in Clinton Township on Monday.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said Makenzey Goerdt, 20, was westbound on North Ramshaw Road about 3 p.m. and was unable to stop for a southbound Canadian National train because of icy conditions. The Nissan Ultima Goerdt was driving slid into one of the rail cars. The car was a total loss, but Goerdt did not appear to have any injuries.
