The Proctor Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 21 Fourth Street around noon on Saturday, finding flames had engulfed the structure. One party was injured and taken to the hospital by ambulance, with responding fire departments estimating upwards of $70,000 damage to the garage.

Calling it a “total loss,” Proctor Fire Chief Kerry Helquist said that people could see the smoke from the fire in Esko. The fire was officially put out around 3:30 p.m..

Fire departments from Hermantown and Solway also responded.
