ABERDEEN, S.D. - A Northern State University student was found dead Wednesday morning, Oct. 17, in a residence hall on campus, according to a news release from the school.
No foul play is suspected in the death of Curtis LeMair, according to the release.
He is listed as a freshman from Shakopee, Minn., on the Northern wrestling roster.
Michael Carlsen, Brown County coroner, said emergency responders were called around 6:30 a.m. He said the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
There is no known cause of death yet, and an autopsy is being conducted, Carlsen said. He said there there were no outward signs of suicide - no weapon, wounds or note.
Northern, in the release, extended condolences to LaMair's family, friends and teammates, and noted it is working with the Aberdeen Police Department, which is conducting an investigation.
The Northern counseling team is available to students, faculty and staff, according to the release.
