They can suffer flashbacks, hyper-arousal and numbness to feelings of any kind, and work to avoid anything reminiscent of their trauma. They often have problems with coping, lack of energy and depression. Most can lead a normal life with proper treatment, but sometimes the trauma is severe and the reaction so extreme that running from their problems is their only way of coping.
