About 110 artists have been selected for the 35th annual Park Point Art Fair to be held Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Park Point Recreation Area.

People may shop the work of local and regional artists working in such mediums as clay, glass, wood and fiber.

Artists are invited to submit an application early in the year with slides representing the work they will show and sell. A jury of three art professionals scores the slides based on craftsmanship and originality. Artists with the highest scores are then selected to attend the two-day event.

This year, there will about 35 new artists. Nine of the 11 award winners from 2004 will be back, including the Best of Show artist, woodworker Daniel Dunbar of Superior, Wis.

Local Duluth artists include Bob and Cheryl Husby, Dave Lynas, Jan Andler and Karin Kraemer, all working with clay; Ron Benson and Casey Goldberg with glass and jewelry designs; and Travis Melin and Elliot Silberman with photography and drawings. New artists Boris Wiedenfeld and Sarah Angst will show works of photography and linoleum prints.
