Power has been restored to many residents throughout northern Minnesota after severe storms moved through the area Monday night.
By 8 a.m. Tuesday, about 1,600 Lake Country Power and 50 Minnesota Power customers were still without power.
That's down from about 17,000 people affected by power outages around 10:25 p.m. Monday, according to the Minnesota Power and Lake Country Power electric outage maps. The outages stretched from the Brainerd and Nisswa area, to Eveleth, Virginia and Fayal Township, to Cohasset and Grand Rapids, to the greater Duluth area.
