For our inaugural "5Q" series of abbreviated Q-and-A segments, we thought we'd showcase Scott "Starfire" Lunt's latest venture.
Lunt is as prolific as Duluthians come: He's a musician (with Father Hennepin and random DJ stints). He's a businessman (Starfire Screen Printing Co. on Fourth Street). He founded the Homegrown Music Festival.
He also operated Random Radio, an unsanctioned basement station/thorn in the FCC's side, from '97 to '98. ("We went off the air July 4, 1998, after the fireworks," Lunt noted.)
Next week, the bona fide Renaissance Man returns to the airwaves with "The Local."
Budgeteer: What is "The Local," exactly?

Lunt: "The Local" is a once-a-week radio show on KUMD (103.3 FM). It will air starting Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 5 to 6 p.m.
Why should people listen?
It is exciting to showcase talent from the region during "drive time." KUWS has a great local show, but I am usually in bed when that starts. It is great to know that I will never run out of music to play. The Twin Ports bands are prolific.
Is there anything local you won't play?
Nothing with the seven words you can't say on the radio.
Does having a legal radio show take any of the allure out of it?
No, not at all. They have a comfy chair, nice microphones and a powerful transmitter.
If you were to dream up a perfect Duluth day, what locally produced song would be playing in the background?

"Mohawks" by Giljunko.
