An informational workshop hosted by the city of Duluth on Thursday will focus on plans for a portion of the St. Louis River Estuary.

Six city commissions are involved in decisions regarding the embayment known as Mud Lake, according to a news release from the city. An embayment is a recess in a coastline forming a bay. The Mud Lake embayment is located off of the Gary-New Duluth neighborhood near the Oliver Bridge.

The workshop, which is from 5-7:30 p.m., will include 20-minute sessions at four stations regarding various aspects of Mud Lake plans.

The event will take place in the Lake Superior Ballroom of the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. Parking is free for attendees, but they must tell the parking lot attendant that they’re attending the workshop.

Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Jessica Schoonover at jschoonover@DuluthMN.gov.
