A & E Supply Co. of Duluth has purchased the Roth Brothers Department Store property in downtown Superior. A & E will use about 40 percent of the building for commercial office supplies and make the rest available for office space rental.

A Congdon estate trustee testified yesterday in the Marjorie Caldwell murder trial that Caldwell was $1.1 million in debt in 1974. Prosecutor John DeSanto called the witness to demonstrate that Caldwell desperately needed money at the time of her mother's murder.

St. Louis County is dedicating almost $18 million for road and highway projects scheduled for this summer. In Duluth, a $2.9 million project will reconstruct and widen about two miles of Arrowhead Road from Haines Road to Arlington Avenue.

In the last six months, the congregation of St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church in Duluth has grown from 17 members at weekly worship services to standing-room only crowds. At the heart of the change is the church's new pastor, Arthur Foy III.
