The Duluth School Board last night agreed to hold a hearing Sept. 20 on the planned 1980 closing of the Park Point Elementary School. The board indicated it is not a question of whether Park Point will close but when.
The nurse who found the bodies of Elisabeth Congdon and Velma Pietila wept on the witness stand yesterday at the Marjorie Caldwell murder-conspiracy trial. Mildred Garvue cried as she told of discovering the bodies in the Congdon mansion on June 27, 1977.

The makers of "Chasing Indigo," an adventure comedy that will be filmed near Detroit Lakes, want aspiring actors to audition this week at the Duluth Radisson Hotel. Filmmakers want to fill up to 60 speaking roles and two leading roles.
Last week's fire that destroyed a two-story industrial building next to Superior Recycled Fiber Industries in West Duluth was caused by arson, Assistant Fire Chief John Strongitharm said yesterday. The building was used to store refrigerators, tires, and recyclables, Strongitharm said.
