The Duluth Police Union has called for the resignation of St. Louis County Attorney Keith Brownell for failing to maintain a competent staff of assistant attorneys. Seven of the fifteen assistant county attorneys have resigned in the past eight months.
Recall petitions for Duluth City Councilor Thomas Agnew will be circulated next week, according to Thomas Gruesen, a Duluth attorney spearheading the recall effort. Gruesen said yesterday the petitions will contain evidence of Agnew's misfeasance in office.

Duluth-based Cirrus Design Corp. recently began producing the first SR20 aircraft that will be delivered to customers. The company has started fuselages and assemblies for three airplanes that will ultimately go to the first of 156 customers who have already placed orders.
Inline skating equipment that the city provided to the Woodland Community Club about three weeks ago has been removed at the request of the club's board of directors. Board members said safety was becoming a big issue, especially with bicyclists using the skate ramp.
