Loll Designs will present a $25,000 donation to Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores — aka COGGS — at a ceremony Thursday morning.

The Duluth-based designer and maker of environmentally minded outdoor furniture will make the contribution in support of COGG’s efforts to construct and maintain the Duluth Traverse Trail network — expected to be the largest urban, single-track trail system in the nation.

The gift Thursday will mark the fifth consecutive year Loll has contributed to the project for a cumulative total of $135,000.

When completed, the Duluth Traverse is expected to boast more than 100 miles of multi-use trail. So far, about 80 miles of that network have been completed. The trails are being designed for mountain biking and other forms of human-powered travel.
