Jessica Lee Jensen, 36, pleaded guilty Friday in the death of her 13-year-old son Aidan Edward Bossingham, who weighed 21 pounds when he died of starvation in January 2014.

Jensen was sentenced to 40 years in prison with 15 years suspended. She will serve more than 21 years before she is eligible for parole.

Jensen had pleaded guilty in the case in April, but North Central Judicial District Judge Gary Lee rejected the terms of that plea agreement.

The case appeared headed to trial before a plea deal was reached this week.
