A 50-year-old Cook woman was injured after the vehicle she was a passenger in struck a deer and then was rear-ended by another vehicle on Beatty Road in rural Cook late Tuesday.
Sherri Sobrya was taken to Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth with non-life threatening injuries, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Others involved were treated and released at the Cook Hospital, the sheriff's office said.
The crash occurred at 10 p.m., and officers determined one of the vehicles struck a deer then was struck from behind after stopping in the roadway.
The Bois Forte Police Department and Cook Fire Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
