UPDATE: William Schultz has been located safe, authorities reported Saturday morning.
The Duluth Police Department is seeking assistance in locating a man missing since Thursday morning.
William Thorene Schultz, 85, was last seen at about 9 a.m. Thursday in the area of 600 N. 47th Ave. W. Schultz made comments about visiting the Gunflint Trail area, according to a Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension announcement.
Authorities say they are concerned about his welfare due to health concerns. He has an unusual gait and doesn’t hear well, according to the BCA.
He was last seen wearing a blue and gray plaid shirt, dark pants and possibly black Nike tennis shoes with velcro closures. He is believed to be driving a green Mercury Marquis with the Minnesota license plate 106NVR, according to Duluth police.
He is five feet, 10 inches and weighs 178 pounds, with grey hair and brown eyes, according to police.
Anyone with information about Schultz’s location is asked to call 911.
