A fire that apparently started in a vehicle spread to an adjacent garage and home on Saturday in Ashland, destroying the garage and causing major damage to the home.

The Ashland Fire Department reported that it responded just before 1 p.m. to a report of a vehicle fire at 3112 Toll Rd. on the city's east side. As they headed to the scene, fire crews learned the fire had spread to a garage that was attached to the home at that address.
